Good morning from Santa Barbara! 🥰
Welcome back to Part Two of my toddler travel series—and today, we’re diving into the logistics.
You know… the stuff that usually causes the most stress. 😅
In this post, I’m sharing everything I’ve learned (through a lot of trial and error!) about the actual getting there part of traveling with a toddler.
From the airport to the plane, jet lag, time zone changes, sleep, potty breaks, meltdowns, seating strategies, what to do if you’re about to miss your flight and more—if it’s a logistical question I’ve gotten in my DMs, it’s probably in here.
This post in particular will be especially applicable to those doing long-haul flights with their kids, but is helpful for any travel regardless!
What this post will cover:
Rookie mistakes to avoid (I’ve made them all!!)
How to facilitate sleep on the plane.
Choosing the right flight times to ensure the smoothest journey.
What to do if they have a meltdown on the plane.
Is business class worth it? And when?
Tips for making the most of economy for a long-haul flight.
Adjusting to time zones + dealing with jet lag.
How to set yourself up for success at your destination.
Troubleshooting: Potty on the plane, quick connections, tantrums, and more.
Clear + Global Entry–my honest thoughts + if they’re worth it.
…and, my personal favorite:
“Am I insane for even considering this?”
(Short answer: no!!)
If you're prepping for a trip or even just thinking about traveling with your little one, I hope this gives you the confidence to go for it! You’ve got this!
