Love this so much! It’s all so true! Love the part you wrote about just taking that extra minute - I feel like I learn that over and over that truly it doesn’t take alot of effort but a minute or 5 minutes of noticing, of movement, of breathing, can make all the difference.
This also reminds me of the movie About Time - the ending scene & line — “I just try to live everyday as if I've deliberately come back to this one day, to enjoy it, as if it was the full final day of my extraordinary, ordinary life." ❤️❤️❤️
Oh I LOVE THAT MOVIE. So much! I think about it so often and it's so true! It's so simple but it really transforms your life! ♥️ I think I might need to watch that one again this week! Thanks for the reminder, and thanks for reading, Alix! Hope you had a wonderful holiday!
Regarding the essay's theme: 'Mommy, are you looking at the beautiful world?' What a brilliant question from your little one. Sometimes it takes that pure, unfiltered observation to remind us adults to slow down. Guess our own internal algorithms need a reset sometimes, no?
It’s how I feel when I stop cleaning to look at my kids having a full convo in their toddler language. How lucky to have two peanuts and watch their little relationship grow!
This was such a lovely reminder that magic is free. So often the making of magic means buying this or that but the noticing of magic, the giving of our attention to magic, that's free.

"What if the difference between a life on auto-pilot and a life well-lived is just…paying attention?" I loved reading this🫶🏾
